Calidad Machinery

Calidad Services is an engineering company in Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire. Calidad Machinery is a standalone sales site alongside the main company website: a catalogue of machinery for sale, a page per machine with its own photo gallery, and a private admin area where staff add and publish listings themselves.

The Calidad Machinery homepage: a black-and-gold header with the Calidad Services logo, and a hero reading 'Engineering machinery for sale' over a photo of a workshop

problem

What the business needed

The main company website is run by an outside agency. Machinery for sale comes and goes, and putting each machine up by asking someone else to change the site is too slow for stock that needs to sell.

The business needed somewhere to show what's for sale with proper photos and a clear route to an enquiry — without rebuilding the company site, or moving its domain and email.

approach

How it was built

Built as a separate site rather than a rebuild. The company site and its email stay exactly where they are; a single link from it is all the new site needs.

Styled to match the main site — the same black and gold, the same typeface, the same buttons — so a visitor never feels they've left the company. Where the original's colours fall short of accessibility standards, the look is kept and the contrast fixed.

The admin area is designed around the people who'll use it: add a machine, drag in up to eight photos, pick the cover shot, add a price or leave it as "price on application", and save it as a draft until it's ready. Drafts — photos included — stay invisible to the public until they're published.

The owner controls who has access: staff are invited with one-time setup links, and removing someone signs them out everywhere at once. The homepage text, contact details, opening hours and banner image can all be edited from the same place.

Enquiries go by phone and email, not an online checkout — selling a machine is a conversation, so the site's job is to start one.

outcome

Where it landed

The site is live, and the team can put a machine up for sale in minutes without involving a developer. The catalogue is being filled ahead of launch on the company's own domain.
