services
What I do — and how I work.
Five services, offered at the scale of a one-person studio — which is the point. You deal directly with the person doing the work, every job is quoted as a fixed fee before it starts, and nothing is outsourced.
After that, there are monthly care plans for keeping a site tested and current — published prices, rolling monthly, no tie-in.
01 · web design & build
A proper website — built fast, tested like software.
For trades and small businesses that need a site doing right — whether it’s your first one or a replacement for something slow, dated or unfixable.
How this works, in more detail
Every site is designed from scratch. No themes, no templates, no page builders — which is why they load fast, hold up on every phone, and don’t look like three other businesses in your town.
An AI-assisted build collapses the slow, expensive part — the weeks of manual coding and back-and-forth — so a site an agency would quote you in months goes live in weeks. You turn up in searches sooner, and the fixed fee is lower, because the work takes a fraction of the time.
And the usual catch with “fast” — corners cut, bugs shipped, something breaking a week after launch — doesn’t apply here. I test software in cybersecurity for a living, and every site goes through that same QA discipline before it goes anywhere near your customers. Fast and right, not fast instead of right.
- A working site in weeks, not months
- Custom design, mobile-first — most of your customers are on their phones, so that’s where the design starts
- Edit your own content, with a handover that leaves you able to
- Contact forms, maps, and booking integrations where the business needs them
- SEO fundamentals, so local customers can find you
- Performance-tested against Core Web Vitals before launch
- Domain, hosting and email routing set up and handed over — you own everything
02 · ai for your business
AI that actually saves you time.
Most small businesses know AI could be saving them hours a week and have no idea where to start — or have already been sold something expensive that nobody ended up using.
How this works, in more detail
This is the practical version. I use these tools daily, both running this business and in my day job, and I’ve got a good read on what saves time versus what’s an expensive way to feel modern.
I look at how your business runs day to day — quotes, invoices, scheduling, customer emails, social posts, the admin that eats your evenings — and find the places AI genuinely helps. Then I set it up and show you and your staff how to use it.
I’ll also tell you where it doesn’t help. Plenty of jobs are quicker done the way you already do them.
And because I work in cybersecurity, we do it without putting your business at risk: which tools are safe to put customer information into, which absolutely are not, and where you stand on data protection.
I won’t recommend anything I don’t use myself.
- A walkthrough of where AI fits your workflows — not a generic list off the internet
- Tools chosen, set up and working, with your team shown how to use them
- Straight guidance on what’s safe to share with AI tools and what isn’t — including customer data
- An honest list of what AI won’t help you with, so you don’t waste money finding out
Good for: businesses drowning in admin, anyone who’s been quoted thousands for an “AI transformation”, and owners who want to use this without risking customer information.
03 · qa & testing
A proper QA pass on the site you’ve already got.
This is my day job, aimed at your website. I test software for a cybersecurity company — working out what needs covering, running regression and exploratory testing, and tracking every bug through to a fix. Most small-business sites have never had any of that done to them.
How this works, in more detail
I work through your site methodically rather than clicking about hoping something falls over — the forms, the booking flows, the links that matter — across browsers and screen sizes, checked on a real phone, not just Chrome on a laptop. Anything that breaks, misbehaves, or nearly works gets logged as a bug: what happened, how to reproduce it, and how bad it is, so nothing gets lost in a vague email.
It’s not a one-off, either. Sites get retested after every fix and before every relaunch, so a change to your booking form doesn’t quietly break checkout somewhere else — the kind of regression that’s obvious once someone’s complained, and invisible until then.
- A methodical pass over the forms, journeys and interactive elements your business depends on
- Manual and exploratory testing across browsers and screen sizes, checked on a real phone — not an automated scan and a shrug
- Regression testing after every fix or change, so nothing you just paid to repair breaks something else
- Accessibility testing against WCAG — keyboard navigation, screen readers, contrast
- Clear, reproducible bug reports, prioritised by how much they matter to your business
- A pre-launch or pre-relaunch sign-off, so “we think it’s fine” is replaced with evidence
Good for: a site built by someone else that’s never been properly tested, a big change or redesign you want checked before it goes live, or an ongoing arrangement so every future update gets the same scrutiny.
05 · security audits
The security basics, checked properly.
Alongside the QA work, a focused pass on how exposed your site is — the checks a cybersecurity company runs, aimed at the site your business depends on.
How this works, in more detail
TLS configuration, security headers, exposed admin routes, out-of-date platforms and plugins, and forms that invite abuse (spam, injection, anything left wide open). Performance against Core Web Vitals gets checked too, since a slow site and an insecure one are usually neglected by the same developer.
You get a prioritised written report in plain English — what’s wrong, why it matters to your business, and what fixing it involves. From there, I can fix it, or you hand the report to your existing developer. No hostage-taking.
Good for: businesses burned by a cheap build, anyone about to spend on marketing that points at a site they don’t trust, or a sanity check before committing to a redesign.
on pricing
Bespoke sites from £500. No templates.
£500 is the floor, not a teaser — a real, designed-from-scratch site starts there. Most jobs fall into one of three bands, depending on how many pages you need, whether you take bookings or payments, and whether anything has to talk to a system you already run. You’ll be told which one you’re in, and what it comes to, before you’re asked for anything.
Every job is quoted as a fixed fee before any work begins. If something takes longer than I estimated, that’s my problem — the price doesn’t move unless the scope does, and any change of scope is agreed and priced before it happens.
And because an AI-assisted build takes a fraction of the time a traditional one does, that fixed fee lands a good deal below the agency quote you might be bracing for — without skimping on the testing that makes it worth having.
No day rates that drift, no surprise invoices, no hosting bill that quietly triples in year two. Ask for a quote and you’ll get a number, not a funnel.
Essentials
£500 to start
5 pages included
Everything a business needs to be findable, credible and easy to get hold of.
- Up to 5 pages, designed for your business
- Contact form, maps and click-to-call wired up
- SEO fundamentals so local customers can find you
- Live in weeks, not months
Booking
recommended£1,200 to start
10 pages included
For when the site has to take bookings, or carry more than a handful of pages.
- Up to 10 pages
- Online booking wired into the system you already run
- Copy written for you, if you would rather not write it
- An existing site migrated across without losing your search rankings
Bespoke
£3,000 to start
Page count agreed up front
For anything that has to talk to your other systems, or take money.
- Page count and scope agreed up front, not capped
- Online payments or a shop, where the business genuinely needs one
- Integrations with scheduling, invoicing, stock or a CRM
- Quoted as a fixed fee once scoped, like everything else here
Pick by what the site has to do, not by the size of your business — a one-person trade often needs Bespoke, and a twenty-person firm is often fine on Essentials. These are scope bands, not templates: every site is designed from scratch, and every one gets the same QA pass before it goes live.
Add what you need
Everything below is optional and priced up front, so you can work out roughly where you’d land before you speak to me.
- An extra page£150 each
- Online booking wired into the system you already runin Booking£300
- Copy written for youin Booking£75 a page
- An existing site moved across, search rankings intactin Booking£250
- Online payments or a shopin Bespokefrom £750
- Connected to your scheduling, invoicing, stock or CRMin Bespokequoted
Items marked in a band are already covered by it — you never pay for the same thing twice.
What you get at any price
These are not add-ons and they are not reserved for the bigger jobs. A £500 site gets the same treatment as one costing several times that — there is no version of this where the testing gets skipped because the budget was small.
- A design made for your business — not a theme with your logo dropped into it
- Mobile-first, because that's where nearly all your customers are
- A full QA pass before launch
- Accessibility and performance checked, not assumed
- Domain, hosting and email routing set up and handed to you — you own all of it
- A handover that leaves you able to edit your own content
And the monthly plans? Entirely optional, and separate from the build. Buy a site outright, take the handover and never pay me again — that is a perfectly normal way to end this, and plenty of clients do exactly that. A care plan is for people who would rather someone kept testing it than find out from a customer that the contact form stopped working.
after launch · care plans
Keeping it right, month after month.
A website isn’t finished when it goes live — it’s just correct on the day it launched. Browsers update. Phones change. Certificates expire. A plugin goes out of date. Someone edits a page and quietly breaks the contact form, and nobody finds out until a customer mentions they tried to get in touch three weeks ago.
How this works, in more detail
A test pass is only true for the version it was run against. These plans are the QA discipline from service 03, applied on a schedule instead of in a single afternoon.
It is not a hosting bill with a markup on it. Hosting for a site built this way costs close to nothing, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise to justify a monthly fee.
Watch
£45/month
You’re not the last to know when something goes wrong.
- Monitoring in place for outages and expiring certificates, so trouble surfaces early
- Regular checks that your forms and booking flows are still doing what they should, on a real phone
- An eye kept on domain, SSL and hosting renewals so nothing lapses without you knowing
- Backups looked after
- Up to 30 minutes of text and photo changes a month
- A short written update every month — what was looked at, and anything worth telling you about
- Response within two to three working days, Monday to Friday
Care
recommended£120/month
The site keeps getting the kind of scrutiny it had at launch.
- Everything in Watch
- A full retest of the site at regular intervals — the journeys that matter, across browsers and screen sizes
- Performance and accessibility kept under review, and put right where they’ve slipped
- The security basics from service 05 revisited periodically — TLS, headers, exposed routes, anything gone out of date
- Up to two hours of changes a month, with unused time carried into the next month
- Anything found logged and prioritised the way it would be in software, not chased over text message
- Priority response — next working day, Monday to Friday
- A short review call each quarter, so the plan stays matched to what you need
Care + Presence
£320/month
The site stays right and the business stays visible.
- Everything in Care
- Up to eight posts a month, written in your voice, agreed with you and scheduled
- Up to four hours of changes a month, rather than two
- Your Google Business Profile kept current — the listing most local customers find you through
- New work, news and seasonal updates added to the site
- One point of contact for the site and everything published on it
How it works
Checks run to a regular schedule, and the update lands whether the news is interesting or not. A quiet month with nothing to report is the plan working, not the plan idling.
How this works, in more detail
Send changes whenever it suits you and they go into that month’s work. The response times on each plan are working-day commitments, and deliberately unspectacular — I’d rather quote a window I hit every time than a faster one I’d miss. Anything genuinely broken jumps the queue regardless of plan.
The change time is a ceiling, not a target — most months come nowhere near it, and on Care what you don’t use rolls into the following month. Bigger pieces of work get quoted as a fixed fee the same way everything else here does, so a plan never quietly becomes an open tab.
What it isn’t: a 24-hour emergency line. I’m one person, I take on a limited number of these so the response times stay true, and if I’m away you’ll know the dates in advance rather than discovering it when you need something.
VAT excluded where it applies, and 10% off if you pay for a year up front — an option, not a requirement.
Rolling monthly. One month’s notice, no tie-in, and you keep the site, the domain and the hosting whatever happens. If you’re plainly not getting the use out of a plan, I’ll say so and move you down one — I’d rather have you on £45 for years than £120 until you notice.
With a new build: the first month of Care is included at handover, and you decide at the end of it whether to carry on. No automatic rollover onto something you didn’t agree to.
