qa engineering
QA engineering, outside the web builds.
Alongside CPF Digital, I’m open to freelance and contract QA engineering work on software products generally — not just websites. If you need an experienced QA engineer for a fixed-term contract, a launch push, or ongoing testing support, this is what that looks like.
what I do
The same QA discipline behind every CPF Digital build.
Test strategy & planning
Written test plans and test cases scoped to what actually needs covering — not a template applied regardless of the product.
Manual & exploratory testing
Structured test execution alongside genuine exploratory sessions, because scripted cases alone don't find everything.
Regression testing
Re-verifying existing functionality after every change or release, so a fix in one area doesn't quietly break another.
Functional & non-functional testing
Feature behaviour, performance under load, interoperability and compatibility — tested against defined requirements, not guessed at.
Cross-platform & device testing
Coverage across browsers, operating systems, and physical hardware where a product depends on it — not just one clean environment.
Accessibility testing
Checked against WCAG — keyboard navigation, screen reader behaviour, contrast — as a standard part of the pass, not an afterthought.
Defect tracking & triage
Clear, reproducible bug reports, prioritised by real business impact, tracked through to verified fix.
Test documentation & reporting
Test plans, strategy documents, exit reports and sign-off summaries written so a non-technical stakeholder can act on them.
Agile & Waterfall environments
Comfortable running QA inside either — sprint-based testing and standups, or fixed-stage plans with formal sign-off gates.

availability
Limited capacity, by design.
This sits alongside a day job and CPF Digital’s client work, so I take on a limited number of freelance or contract QA engagements at a time. Get in touch, describe the work, and I’ll tell you honestly whether the scope and timing are a fit.
Have a project in mind?
Tell me what you’re trying to do. I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right fit — and exactly what it would cost.
